Surabhi Naik is a poet, designer and story gatherer born and raised in the Konkan bioregion of the Indian subcontinent. She makes work using poetry, web design, programming, digital filmmaking, ethnographic research, oral history, and transmedia storytelling.
She received her MA in Media Studies from The New School in New York City where she was a Provost’s Scholar and her Bachelor of Architecture from KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi India. She also holds a masters degree in English from IGNOU, New Delhi. Her work involves collaborations with artists, social impact entrepreneurs, cultural and educational institutions to facilitate creative expression within cultural conversations.
She is a co-conspirator at alotnesse.studio and a founding member of the gLiTCh artists collective. Her documentary work was a part of Verizon's 5G EdTech Accelerator 2019 and her design work has been exhibited at eminent forums such as National Awards for Excellence in Architecture and Charles Correa Gold Medal. Her past and current affiliations include Urban Design Research Institute Mumbai, Council of Architecture India, and Parsons School of Design, Equity Design Inc, Culture Push and Works on Water of New York City.
